The regular schedule is as follows:
Tour #1 will be available most days.
Tour #2, including the Railroad and Ferry Depot Museum, will be offered on most Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. With at least two days notice, other days may be made available.
CAN PRIVATE GROUP TOURS BE ARRANGED AT OTHER TIMES?
Yes! Groups (including at least four adults) can arrange for private tours by contacting Elliott Brown at 415 849-0345 or by emailing to info@tiburonwalkingtours.com. For special non-scheduled tours, there is no discounted price for groups fewer than eight. Special pricing is available, however, for groups of eight or more.
School groups, youth organizations, and non-profit groups are eligible for reduced pricing as well.
Please note that part of Tour #2, the Railroad and Ferry Depot Museum, is only open to the public from 1 to 4 PM Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, April through October. By special arrangement with the Belvedere-Tiburon Landmarks Society, we have been able to have the museum opened at other times for our tours.
FOR WHOM ARE THE TOURS APPROPRIATE?
Each tour is less than 1 mile of easy walking on mostly flat, paved pathways and sidewalks. There is one portion of each tour that involves an incline. While we have hosted guests in wheelchairs or using walkers, it will be the full responsibility of the individual tour participant to determine whether to participate in this segment of the tour.
Children over the age of 10 should have little difficulty understanding the tours and keeping up with them. This may not be true for younger children. Tour #1 includes significant information about the mistreatment and eventual genocide of the Coast Miwok indigenous people. Parents should use their discretion.
WHAT IF A TOUR IS CANCELED?
If a tour is canceled due to inclement weather (which is very rare between May and October) or any other reason, you will be notified immediately and will receive a full refund or the option to reserve space for a future tour.
HOW ABOUT PARKING?
If you are driving, be aware that on-street parking is unmetered, but is limited to two hours, so if you arrive early and park on the street, you might want to check your tires for chalk marks before beginning the tour, or choose to park in the $5.00-for-all-day parking lot on the east side of Tiburon Boulevard (on the left side as you approach the town) just before the CVS store and opposite the Boardwalk shopping center. You’ll see this sign:
